Begin an incredible journey with the Island Peak Trek and Climb, leading you through the heart of the Khumbu Valley and to the iconic Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft). Standing at 6,189 meters (20,305ft), Island Peak is one of the most popular climbing peaks in the Everest region, known for its striking, glacier-covered west face that rises dramatically from the Lhotse Glacier.
This carefully planned itinerary ensures proper and gradual acclimatization at every stage of the adventure. Before attempting the summit, you will trek to two of the world’s most renowned destinations—Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar—offering breathtaking close-up views of Mount Everest and other towering peaks. The expedition both starts and concludes at Lukla Airport, one of the most famous mountain airstrips in the Himalayas.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Upon our arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by a representative from Himalayan Traverse who will take us to star level hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Brief discussion upon the trip
After breakfast in the morning we start a small sightseeing in Kathmandu in the three famous UNESCO World heritage enlisted sites: “Pashupatinath Temple” the biggest temple for Hindus, “Swayambhunath Stupa” also known as the monkey temple which is one of the famous religious Stupa for Buddhists and “Boudhanath Stupa” the biggest Stupa in Nepal located in Kathmandu. After this short visit to religious sites, we make early preparations for our trip and make sure everything is okay. As it is the second day, we will make you brief introduction on your trip and your guide/s too. At the evening we will host a welcome dinner offering typical Nepalese cuisine in one of the finest Nepalese Restaurants in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,184ft) then trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 40 min flight, 3-4 hours trek
After having breakfast, we head to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport for an early morning flight to Lukla. The scenic flight offers stunning views of lush hills and snow-capped peaks before landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport—one of the world’s most remarkable airstrips, perched on a hillside surrounded by towering mountains.
Upon reaching Lukla, we meet the rest of our trekking team and, after final preparations, begin our trek through the lively village of Lukla toward Phakding. To help with acclimatization, today’s walk is kept short and easy. Those interested can also take a short detour to visit a nearby monastery. We spend the night in Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft): 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we begin our trek through lush pine forests, following the Dudh Koshi River as we make our way toward Namche Bazaar. About an hour into the walk, the majestic Mt. Thamserku (6,608m) comes into view on our right, while the soothing aroma of pine, fir, and juniper fills the air along the trail. On clear days, we might even catch our first glimpse of Mt. Everest rising above the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge.
The trail continues toward the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, leading us to Namche Bazaar—the gateway to Mt. Everest and the main trading hub of the Khumbu region. Along the way, we cross five suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge, the highest of them all. The final stretch is an uphill climb to reach Namche Bazaar, where we stay overnight.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft): Acclimatization Day
Today is reserved for acclimatization. Health experts advise staying active even on rest days, as light movement helps the body adjust to the altitude. There are several ways to spend the day — we can take a leisurely walk around the charming Namche villages, interact with the Sherpa community to learn about their rich traditions, or hike up to the Everest View Hotel for breathtaking close-up views of Mt. Everest.
While in Namche or after returning from the Everest View Hotel hike, visitors can explore the local museum, which features exhibits on the region’s flora, fauna, and the history of Mount Everest.
For those who prefer a longer hike, an excursion to Khumjung village (around 5–6 hours) is another great option. There, we can visit the Edmund Hillary School and the famous Khumjung Monastery, known for displaying what is believed to be the head of the Yeti. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche or Debuche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5- 6 hours
After breakfast, we begin our trek toward Tengboche. The trail from Namche to Phunki offers an easy and pleasant walk. From Phunki, the path climbs steadily uphill to reach Tengboche — a picturesque village famous for its renowned Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Everest region.
Situated within Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its exceptional natural beauty, the monastery is surrounded by a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The monastery opens around 3 p.m., and if we arrive in time, we may have the opportunity to witness a spiritual ceremony. We continue onward to Debuche for an overnight stay.

Day 07: Tengboche or Debuche to Dingboche (4,200m/13,776ft): 4-5 hours
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas, the Tengboche Monastery enjoys a truly remarkable location. In the morning, we visit the monastery to admire its beauty and capture photos of the surrounding scenery. Afterward, we descend through a forested trail for about half an hour before crossing a river. From there, the path climbs steadily upward, and as we gain altitude, the terrain becomes noticeably drier.
We pass through the traditional Sherpa village of Pangboche before reaching Dingboche — a charming settlement nestled beside a river. Here, we can spot a small helipad used for emergency helicopter rescues. There’s also an opportunity to attend an informative session with a mountain specialist at the Pheriche Medical Clinic. We stay overnight in Dingboche.

Day 08: Rest Day in Dingboche
Today we rest and do a hiking in nearby peak with height of 5300 meters. Overnight at Dingboche.

Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930m/16,170ft): 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we begin with a gentle walk toward Dugla. From there, the trail climbs the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and continues over rocky, boulder-strewn slopes as we ascend Chupki Lhara. Along this section, we encounter a collection of stones adorned with prayer flags, serving as memorials to Scott Fischer, the American mountaineer, and Babu Chiri Sherpa, the Nepalese guide who summited Everest ten times — both of whom tragically lost their lives on Everest expeditions.
The trek then proceeds along the Khumbu Glacier moraine, where we are greeted by breathtaking views of towering peaks, including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and the Mahalangur Himal range. Overnight stay is at Lobuche.

Day 10: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17,594ft) and back to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft): 6-7 hours
From Gorak Shep, we follow the trail toward Everest Base Camp, passing the area that was once the expansive Gorak Shep Lake. Along the way, we encounter memorials dedicated to Indian Army mountaineers. The path ahead can be tricky, so it is essential to carefully follow the guidance of our lead Sherpa.
The trek is challenging due to the thin air at high altitude, as we navigate rocky dunes, moraines, and streams. Upon reaching Everest Base Camp, the colorful tents of climbers stand out vividly against the gray landscape, particularly during the spring season. From the base camp, we can admire spectacular views of Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori. After spending time at the camp, we return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay and well-deserved rest.

Day 11: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545m/18,192ft] and head to Dingboche (4940m/16,207ft): 7-8 hours
We set out early in the morning, before dawn, facing cold temperatures ranging from -10°C to -14°C, with the possibility of brisk winds that are common at this altitude. As we climb, familiar peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse rise to the east, gradually revealing Mt. Everest.
Reaching Kala Patthar rewards us with a spectacular 360-degree view of Everest and the surrounding Himalayan giants. We take time to capture photos and soak in the breathtaking mountain panorama before returning to Lobuche for an overnight stay and rest.

Day 12: Dingboche to Chukung(5,550m./18,210ft.)
Early morning after breakfast we head to chukung ascending the ways being through the panoramic beauties and beautiful environment we have glance upon lhoste glacier and many more we finally reach chukung and hire members personal climbing gears.
(Note: We can hire climbing gears in rent in Chukung. If we get supported by the time and weather, we can even ascend chukung in the same day if the members want to.)

Day 13: Chukkung: Rest and Climbing Training Day.
Day 14: Chhukung to Island Peak Base camp (5,200m/17,060ft): 3-4 hours
The trek to Island Peak Base Camp follows a moderately steep trail. We begin by heading south, then turn east to follow the main valley. The path winds below the southern slopes of the Lhotse Glacier moraine, before continuing along a scenic trail beside a stream.
The route toward Amphu Labtsa branches off to the southeast, while a crisscrossing path through the Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines leads into a wide valley on the southwest side of Island Peak. Trekkers can also use this area for training on the same day.

We move after breakfast slowly after all the preparation to high camp being through steppe way and ascending with the challenge of altitude and with the view of aphu labtsa view, island peak glacier etc finally we reach to high camp.

Day 16: Island Peak Base Camp to Dingboche (3,985m/13,074ft) 5-6 hours
We move after early morning breakfast all preparation we descend to chukung and we drop all the hired things and we lunch at Chukung and then we make our way to Dingboche being through the beautiful scenarios. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 17: Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft.): 6-7 hrs walk
We descend back to Namche Bazaar crossing the rhododendron forests. Enjoying the natural beauty of the place and watching the smiley faces of Sherpa locals we make our way down to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft): 6-7 hours
The trail descends sharply, requiring careful steps as tired legs navigate the rocky terrain. After crossing several suspension bridges spanning the fast-flowing Dudh Koshi River and its tributaries, the path gradually levels out and becomes easier to walk. Upon reaching Lukla, we take time to stretch our legs and reflect on the memorable experiences of the past few weeks. Overnight stay is in Lukla.

Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
After completing our mountain adventure, we take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, there is time to rest or browse for souvenirs. Those who wish to explore other parts of the city can do so, with guidance and assistance from our tour leaders. In the afternoon, we gather for a farewell dinner. Day 20: Final Departure
Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Just got home from our second trek in the Himalayas with Dorjee sherpa. We treked to tengboche for the mani rimdu festival. The festival was incredible and the mountains are magnificent. Dorjee is a great guide and we really enjoyed staying at his Buddha lodge and meeting his wonderful family.
