Facts: It’s the largest among 8000ers and the route to the summit is the longest among 8000m mountains. It was considered to be the highest mountain till 1856. It is not that Technical Mountain but its height made climbers suffer on it.

About Trip:

Kanchenjunga is the third Highest point on the Earth. It rises to 8586m above the sea level. It lies in the eastern part of Nepal. Its position: Latitude:27○ 44’09” and Longitude: 88○09’25’’   First summit: on 25th May 1955 by Christopher Band from the UK via South West Face. Kanchenjunga means “Five Magnificent Snow Treasures” a reference to the five high peaks that rise from the surrounding glaciers. The five mountains from the southeast are South Peak (8491m), Central Peak (8478m), and Main Peak-8586m, in the westward, there are Yalung Kang and Khambachen.

Advanced technical skill level is a must to take part in the Kanchenjunga Expedition. It is regarded by some as a more difficult ascent than Mount Everest. You need to have substantial mountaineering experience to be able to attempt the ascent, due to harsh terrain and weather conditions. The expedition includes treks and climbs lasting over 10 hours per day, hence, excellent physical condition and is required. Winter technical climbing gear is absolutely necessary.

Day 38:       Trek from Basecamp to Ramche : Camping

Day 39:       Trek from Ramche to Tortong : Camping

Day 40:      Trek from Tortong to Yamphudin : Camping

Cost Includes:

  5. Hotel in Bhadrapur: 1-night Hotel in Bhadrapur, twin bedroom sharing basis.
  6. Permit: Expedition Royalty and permit of Nepal Government to climb Mt. Kanchenjunga, Restricted area permit and all necessary paperwork and its fee.
  7. Liaison Officer: 1 Government Liaison officer with full equipment, salary, and accommodation.  
  8. Garbage Management: Stool Shipment Transfer and garbage Deposit fees.
  9. Insurance: Medical and emergency rescue Insurance for all involved Nepalese staff during the trek and expedition.
  10. Cargo Clearance: International Air cargo clearance of Member Personal Luggage and payment of Government taxes in Nepal. *Before the expedition.
  11. Member transportation: 
    - (Standard Route Itinerary)
    While returning Drive from Khadenba up to Bhadrapur and from Bhadrapur Fly to Kathmandu, as per itinerary.
  12. Expedition Stuffs Transportation:  Necessary all equipment Transportation for all Members and Staff from Kathmandu to Phidim / Khadenba (by Truck) and from Phidim / Khadenba to Basecamp (By Porters) – While returning: Basecamp to Khadenba / Phidim (by Porters) and to Kathmandu (by Truck).
  13. Member Luggage: Up to 70 Kg per member for personal baggage during the trek carried by the porter.
  14. Food and Lodging:  3 meals a day (BDL; including tea and coffee) along with accessible accommodation at Hotel/Lodge/Tea house/Camp during the trek and Basecamp. Well-managed base camp set up for members and staff.
  15. All Necessary equipment for Camping during the trek.
  16. Porter: Porters per member up to Base camp from Khadenba & while returning porters from Base camp to Khadenba.
  17. Base Camp Staff:  Experienced and well-trained Base Camp Cook and kitchen Helpers as required.
  18. Staff Salary and allowance: All Nepalese staff’s & porter’s daily wages, salary, equipment, food & clothing.
  19. Base Camp Tent: Each member will have an individual similar to the north face tent in Base Camp.
  20. Base Camp equipment: At Base camp: foam mattresses and pillow per member, 1 dining tent, 1 Kitchen Tent, 1 Toilet & 1 Shower Tent, 1 staff tent, 1 Tent for Nepalese base camp staff, Tables & chairs & all necessary cooking gears.
  21. Heater: Heater for base camp in each Dining and other necessary camp.
  22. Solar: 1 Solar panel or Generator for battery charge and light at base camp for use. 
  23. High Altitude Climbing Sherpa: 1 veteran and Government Licensed Climbing Sherpa per member. (1 Member: 1 Sherpa).
  24. Climbing Sherpa Salary & Allowance: Climbing Sherpa Salary, Equipment, Food and Clothing.
  25. Oxygen Bottle (O2): Summit Oxygen: 3 oxygen bottles (4 ltrs.) for each member and 2 oxygen bottles for each high-altitude Sherpa. **
  26. Oxygen Mask & Regulator: 1 Set of Summit Oxygen masks & regulators for each member and high-altitude Sherpa. **
  27. Back up Oxygen Cylinder, mask, and regulator (with appropriate charge).
  28. High camp service: High Altitude Tent, Necessary cooking EPI gas, cooking pot, High food for a member, Sherpa, and other crews at (C1) (C2) (C3), and (C4). Group climbing gears, fixed and dynamic rope during the climbing period as required.
  29. Walkie-Talkie: Walkie-Talkie for communicating from Base Camp to Mountain and Mountain to Base Camp.
  30. Certificate: Mt. Kanchenjunga climbing certificate issued by MoCTCA (after climbing Mt. Kanchenjunga successfully).
  31. Satellite Phone: 1 Provided to leading sherpa, pay-to-call for members.
