“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.” - John Muir
Standing at an altitude of 7126 meters, Himlung Himal lies in the middle of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Himlung Himal has become very popular among mountaineers Although it lies in a remote region of Nepal as is the best mountain for beginners to train on if they are ultimately planning for an 8000m mountain. The first presumed ascent of the Himlung Himal took in 1983. A Japanese expedition team reached the summit from the south over the eastern ridge. But another ascent was done by another Japanese climber through the northwest route instead in the year 1992.
Himlung Himal is located in the Peri Himal range of Manang district in the Gandaki zone of Nepal. It is quiet in the remote region. So, quality teahouses and lodges are not much available here. We will have to start camping from “Meta”. This mountain region lies just 1.5 kilometers from the Tibetan border. From Himlung Himal, Manaslu is 28 kilometers toward the southeast. We can see Phu Khola on the north and west sides of Himlung Himal, a tributary of the Marsyangdi, drained. The routes are combined with high peaks and passes, glaciers, remote villages, narrow gullies, lovely forests, amazing rock and spring formations, Gompas(Monastery), and unique varied cultures
The route for Himlung Himal route passes through high peaks and passes, glaciers, remote villages, narrow gullies, forests, rocks, springs, Gompas(Monastery), and unique cultural settlements. The local people and culture may fascinate anyone as it is also influenced by Tibetan culture. Ancient Buddhist culture and tradition are practiced in this western region of Nepal. We can see these smiley locals till Phu Gaun. After "Phu", we are on our own.
The Himlung Himal expedition offers travelers a mysterious culture and panoramic mountain views of Nandadevi, Rajramba, Api Himal, Kappa Chuli Peak, and many more. Although in remote regions, the mountain isn’t so technical as its altitude. It is a very beautiful mountain for alpinism in altitude from its base camp to the Summit. Generally, three camps are built for this expedition. We, the Himalayan Traverse Adventure have designed this amazing expedition package targeting the beginner and all kinds of mountaineers who would love to have adventure with the sight of mother nature.
