“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.” -Jack Kerouac
Standing at the altitude of 7246 meters, Putha Hiunchuli lies in the western end of Dhaulagiri II range and is also known as Dhaulagiri VII. This 95th highest mountain in the World was first summited by a J.O.M. Roberts from Great Britain and Ang Nyima Sherpa from Nepal. Putha Hiunchuli is a rising choice for mountaineer looking for a technically easy mountain to climb at the beginning.
Putha Hiunchuli is located in Dolpa popularly as the “Wild West” of Nepal. It’s denoted in the famous book “Snow Leopard” by Peter Matthiessen. This region of Nepal is rarely visited and also remote on various aspects. Putha Hiunchuli Expedition is technically an easy trail, but is also interesting journey and gives mountaineer a beautiful view of high Himalayas and sight of mother-nature.
Putha Hiunchuli expedition is an adventurous journey through the hills, villages and natural vegetation. We can see the smiling faces of locals and get to know their gratitude and respect for tourists. They make us feel like it’s our own home. Buddhists shrines in some places as pilgrim sites for locals are some amazing sites to visit. As it lies in quite remote part of our country, we mostly do camping and teahouses are not of high standards, but friendly.
Putha Hiunchuli Expedition take basically 3 camps, the highest at the altitude of 6,500 meters. This a technically an easy mountain for mountaineers who would love to start with an easy seven-thousands and it’s a perfect preparation for over 8000 meters as well. We, the Himalayan Traverse Adventure have designed this amazing expedition for climbers who have a goal to climb much higher Himalayas and want to gain experience in seven-thousands for it.
